What a scanned table looks like in your spreadsheet

Real output for our sample: a slightly crooked scan of a chemical inventory. CAS numbers and lot codes such as 75-01-4 or 12-2 come out as text, the way they are printed, instead of being turned into dates.

What it converts

Any printed table, scanned or digital:

  • Reports, price lists, inventories, rotas and schedules
  • Scanned PDFs and phone photos, slightly crooked included
  • Tables that continue over two pages, as one table
  • Codes, references and IDs kept as text, leading zeros included
  • Numbers as numbers, ready to add up
  • Cells split over two lines, joined back

Why Excel turns your codes into dates, and how to avoid it

When you paste a PDF table or open a CSV, Excel guesses the type of every cell: 7-9 becomes 7 September, 75-01-4 becomes a date in 2004, and 0003.000101 loses its zeros. The data is changed silently and you only notice later.

The Excel file you download here is a real .xlsx where each cell already has its type: codes and references are text, amounts are numbers. Nothing is reinterpreted when you open it.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Without an account you can convert 3 documents a day of up to 2 pages each and see the result. To download it as Excel, create a free account: 20 pages a month, no card.

Does it work with scanned PDFs and photos?

Yes. Scans and photos go through OCR and then the AI rebuilds the table. Text PDFs are read directly. In our tests with 5 different tables (a sales report, a scanned inventory, a two-page price list, a stock count photographed from a printout and a shift rota) 99.3% of cells came out right.

Will Excel turn my codes into dates?

Not with the file you download here: it is a real .xlsx and every cell already has its type, so 75-01-4, 12-2 or 0003.000101 stay exactly as printed.

Can it read a table that runs over two pages?

Yes. Rows from both pages come out as one table, in order, with the header only once.

Does it work with handwritten tables?

It is built for printed tables. Clear handwriting may be read, but we don't guarantee it, so check the result.

What happens to my file?

The file is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, and the extracted data is deleted automatically after 30 days.
